DESCRIPTION:
This course is offered on a part-time basis and caters to persons already having an Electrical Installation Craft or CVQ Certificate, or CSEC Five subjects, including Electrical and Electronic Technology.
Subjects covered in this programme are: Electrical Principles Mathematics Technical Drawing Process and Materials
OUTCOMES:
The graduates will obtain the Guyana Technical Education Examination (G.T.E.E.) Technician Certificate in Electrical Engineering and will also be able to design and develop new electrical systems, solve problems, and test equipment.
DESCRIPTION:
The Electrical programme is offered on a full-time basis and is delivered through competency-based education and training (CBET). To achieve the Caribbean Vocational Qualification (CVQ) in this programme, the trainee is required to complete the Core Curriculum - Introductory Craft Skill, and twelve mandatory modules.
At level two, the trainee is required to complete level one and eleven mandatory modules. This programme will allow the student to acquire competency in effectively carrying out work related electrical activities.
OUTCOMES:
The trainee will obtain the Electrical Caribbean Vocational Qualification (CVQ) Level One and Level Two certificates, enabling him or her to gain the competencies necessary to perform work related to fundamental electrical tasks
DESCRIPTION:
Radio and Electronic Servicing is a two-year programme that is offered on a full-time basis.
During the final year, the trainee will be required to undertake the Guyana Technical Education Examination (G.T.E.E.) for Calculations and science, Technology, and Practical assessments.
OUTCOMES:
The graduates will obtain the Guyana Technical Education Examination (G.T.E.E.) Craft Certificate in Radio and Electronic Servicing and will develop the competency to perform work related electronic tasks.
DESCRIPTION:
The General construction programme is offered on a full-time basis and is delivered through competency-based education and training (CBET). In this program, the Caribbean Vocational Qualification (CVQ) is earned through the completion of eleven mandatory modules for Level 1. The trainee may also select additional modules in General construction, including rough casting and rendering flat surfaces, preparing surfaces for painting and decorating, constructing masonry blockwork, etc., thus receiving additional qualifications.
At level 2, the trainee must complete level 1 and twenty seven mandatory modules to receive the General Construction level 2 CVQ certificate.
OUTCOMES:
The trainee will obtain the General Construction Caribbean Vocational Qualification (CVQ) Level One and Level Two certificates, enabling him or her to gain the competencies necessary to perform work related to the construction industry.
DESCRIPTION:
This is a two year evening programme geared toward persons already having a Craft, certificate, CVQ Certificate, or CSEC Five subjects including one or more in the related field. It also caters for persons employed in the construction industry have two years’ experience the practical aspects of construction. Subjects covered in this programme are:
